VectorWorks 12 and VectorWorks 2008 will both directly open files from all prior versions of VectorWorks, as well as files from MiniCAD 7. The translator version of MiniCAD 7 on this page, will allow MiniCAD 4, 5 and 6 files to be converted to MiniCAD 7 format, so they can also be opened in the latest version of VectorWorks. The MiniCAD 7 Macintosh translator version will only run in Mac OS 7.0.0 - to Mac OS 9.2.2, so if you are running OS X, you will need to have Classic installed. The MiniCAD 7 Windows translator version will run in Windows 95, 98, 2000 and XP, though the latter will really only allow you to open and save files, which is all you need to do.

Instructions

1. Download the software via the link on the right.

2. Unzip the file and copy the folder to a convenient location, such as your Applications folder.

3. Email to obtain the serial number to run the software. This is only available for registered Australian users. Make sure you specify whether it is for Macintosh or Windows.

4. Launch MiniCAD 7, enter the serial number then open and save your prior version files in MiniCAD 7 format, so they can be opened by the current version of VectorWorks.
