Am I entitled to a student version?
A special version of Vectorworks is available to students enrolled at school, college or university, who are studying in a full time course that requires the use of CAD (computer aided design). It contains all the Design modules (Architect Australia, Landmark, Machine Design and Spotlight) and also includes Renderworks. Student versions may not be used for any commercial purpose.

How does the student version work?
The student version is fully functional and will work on both Macintosh and Windows based computers. It ships with an on-line user guide and Quickstart training DVD. Vectorworks uses an on-line authorisation system that requires an internet connection at least once a month.

Drawings created with the student version will print with an outline education watermark in the border at the top and bottom of the page, and can not be opened in the professional version of Vectorworks. If your school or college has Vectorworks 2009 or 2010 and you print from the school computers, there will be no watermark on the drawing.

The student version requires an internet connection to install and at least monthly after that.

PDF files created using the Export PDF function in the Vectorworks 2009 or 2010 student versions cannot be opened or edited in Adobe software like Illustrator or Photoshop.

How do I buy it?
The student version is only available directly from OzCAD and must be ordered using one of the PDF order forms to the right. The PDF form must be downloaded, printed and completed in full. It requires the signature of both the yourself and your teacher/lecturer. Completed forms must be faxed or mailed to OzCAD. Costing, fax number and postal address are all on the form. How will I receive it?
Student orders are shipped by Express Post.

Do you have a shop from which I can pick up my licence?
No. Software can only be posted.

What version should I buy?
All students are encouraged to purchase Vectorworks 2010, however those attending schools or colleges who are still using Vectorworks 2009 or earlier may elect to purchase version 2009. If this is the case, please check with your teacher or lecturer before making a decision about which version to purchase, because the school may be planning to upgrade in the near future. Neither Vectorworks 2009 nor Vectorworks 2010 are compatible with education versions of Vectorworks older than 2008. If your institution is using Vectorworks 12.5 or prior, please email us for advice before ordering.

What if I pick the wrong version?
Exchanges for incorrect choice of version are not possible so if in doubt, please discuss with your teacher/tutor/lecturer or OzCAD, before purchase.
