Vectorworks 2010

Making Change Easy

Building upon the integration of the Parasolid® 3D modeling core in 2009, version 2010 is making change easy with new bi-directional associativity features and an intuitive, easy-to-approach 3D modelling environment. These capabilities ensure that changes are intelligently reflected throughout the design — a cornerstone for information modelling workflows in the building industry and beyond.

"Demand for more efficient design and construction over the past few years has led many professionals to evaluate making a change in their technologies and workflows to incorporate intelligent modelling software," states Sean Flaherty, CEO of Nemetschek North America. "Many small and medium-sized firms find the transition to information modeling workflows difficult, as technologies are hard to learn and complicated to use. The additions to Vectorworks 2010 are going to help remove these barriers and make the change for designers easy."

Vectorworks is the perfect choice for designers who want to embrace this change without turning their firms upside down. Vectorworks software offers an intuitive 3D environment with unified views, easy-to-use 3D snapping for accurate modelling, and the world’s best 3D modeling core. Scroll down for more info.

Notable industry-specific functionality for architecture, landscape, and entertainment design includes:

  • planar graphics and working plane improvements
  • improvements to import/export of IFC, DWG and SKP files
  • associative hatching
  • new wall sculpting ability
  • new stair features
  • hardscape improvements
  • new parking tools
  • new event-planning suite
  • video screen tools
  • new rendering options
Vectorworks Architect 2010

New in Vectorworks Architect 2010

Version 2010 brings you the features you’ve been waiting for, like a more intuitive 3D interface and a completely new stair tool. This year the software is more robust, with the implementation of the 2D Dimensional Constraint Manager from Siemens PLM. It’s a technology library that ensures a solid, reliable foundation for associating objects; for instance, wall networks make dragging and joining walls a breeze. Additionally, we’ve made behind-the-scenes changes to bring you simpler interfaces and more efficient tools. And you’ll enjoy better coordination of drawing information.

Vectorworks Landmark 2010

New in Vectorworks Landmark 2010

Landmark 2010 offers refinements to the Landscape Area Tool for mass plantings, improved Hardscape objects that have the ability to contol which edges have borders, and new parking tools for fast layouts and counts that can be tracked by spreadsheet. The terrain modeller's reliability has been improved, and new options for Plant objects make defining plants definitions easier. Standard schedules are now included and are much easier to access. The Existing Tree tool has also received a major overhaul that gives you better control over plant graphics, automatic numbering, better 3D and more.

Vectorworks Spotlight 2010

New in Vectorworks Spotlight 2010

For 2010, Spotlight gains a new event-planning suite that makes layouts a snap, even if you're new to Vectorworks, and new video screen parametric objects and an improved seating layout tool round out the offerings for event producers.

Lighting designers will find a faster double-click insertion for lighting instruments, better support for specifying colour (in RGB, hex, or manufacturers' names), as well as the addition of SFX and practical lights to your lighting device types. And of course, Spotlight's extensive libraries of instruments, truss and gobos have been updated.
